Author Copyright

Authors retain copyright in articles published by Notulae Scientia Biologicae and retain their publishing rights.

By accepting publication, authors grant the journal and its publisher, the Society of Land Measurements and Cadastre from Transylvania (SMTCT), a non-exclusive right to edit, publish, reproduce, distribute, preserve, index, and make the article available in digital and other formats.

Authors retain ownership
Publication in the journal does not transfer copyright ownership from the authors to the journal or publisher.

Publication Licence

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

This licence permits readers and other users to copy, share, distribute, reproduce, adapt, translate, transform, and build upon published material in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, provided that:

  • appropriate credit is given to the author or authors;
  • the original publication in Notulae Scientia Biologicae is clearly acknowledged;
  • the DOI or permanent article link is included whenever available;
  • a link to the CC BY 4.0 licence is provided;
  • any modifications, adaptations, or translations are clearly indicated.

Author Reuse and Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit, share, distribute, and reuse the published version of their article without an embargo period, including through:

Institutional Repositories
University, research institute, or funder repositories.
Personal and Academic Profiles
Personal websites, institutional profiles, and academic networking platforms.
Teaching and Research
Courses, lectures, reports, presentations, and subsequent scholarly work.
Translations and Adaptations
Permitted under CC BY 4.0 when attribution and modification notices are provided.

In all cases, authors should cite the journal publication and include the DOI or permanent URL of the published article.

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any material for which they do not hold the necessary rights, including figures, photographs, maps, tables, datasets, questionnaires, or substantial excerpts from previously published works.

Third-party content that is not covered by the article’s CC BY 4.0 licence must be clearly identified through an appropriate credit line or rights statement. Users wishing to reuse such material must obtain permission directly from the relevant rights holder.

Attribution and Research Integrity

Reuse of journal content must preserve accurate attribution and must not misrepresent the original work, the authors’ conclusions, or the context in which the material was published.

The CC BY 4.0 licence does not permit users to imply endorsement by the authors, journal, Editorial Team, or publisher, or to apply legal or technological restrictions that would prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the licence.
